South Park

The Southpark area of Charlotte, NC was once a 3,000-acre dairy farm that was owned by NC governor Cameron Morrison. This area of Charlotte is centered around Southpark Mall located at the intersections of Fairview Road and Sharon Rd and is only 6 Miles from uptown Charlotte. Southpark is home to roughly 18,000 Charlotte residents and is home to several corporations including Coca-Cola, Fluor and SunTrust Banks.

Southpark is a very popular place to buy homes because of its closeness to uptown, shopping, and restaurants. Residents in this part of Charlotte attend Beverly Woods Elementary, Sharon Elementary, Alexander Graham Middle, Carmel Middle, Meyers Park High School and South Meck High School. The private school, Charlotte Country Day School is located within the edge of Southpark as well.

Southpark Mall opened in 1970 and includes luxury brands like Neiman Marcus (this is the only store in NC) Tiffany’s, Nordstrom, Burburry, Louis Vuitton, and more. Each Christmas Southpark Mall hosts a large tree lighting ceremony to bring the community together each year. Southpark is also home to the Symphony Park amphitheater that hosts concerts each summer.
